COVID Safety Rules of Race

All competitors must signup pre the event via Race|Result [signup on the day will not be available], you will also be asked to confirm that you meet government COVID personal / medical regulations – 200 max;

Competitors will be given personal check in times (via email closer to the event) and will be started in batches of 10 in numbered groups, at 10-minute intervals commencing at 10am. [These timings will be given to competitors based on their given anticipated run time – giving a 3 hr 20 min spread of start timings for 200 competitors; we currently have 140 competitors, meaning check-in times will last from 0930 to 1150].  This will keep the numbers gathering before their race time down, and help to ensure that social distancing is maintained so far as possible on the course (with minimal passing), whilst facilitating a competitive race;

Competitors will be asked to arrive at the 2 check-in windows on the playing field side of Hammond pavilion at their allocated time, stating their name and race result bib number – their electronic bib will be handed to them and they will be reminded of their ‘starting group number’ – check-in complete [please be on-time as this system relies on an orderly flow – and the next tranche of 10 competitors will arrive 10 mins after you];

25 minutes after their check-in time competitors will be asked to assemble at the pre-gate area by a ‘starting group number’ call forward, 5 mins before their individual group start time;

Competitors are welcome to run with their dogs on a lead, please tick the ‘running with dog’ box (final entry on the registration page);

Changing facilities both pre and post the run are not available – with no bag drop-off [cars can be parked for free close to the pavilion / playing field];

The pavilion will not be open to competitors, but toilets will be available via a circular route in / out.  Competitors must wait in the open / their car / warm up on the playing field;

On completion of their run competitors may get a free drink / biscuit from the café window, and then remain socially distanced on the playing field until their departure – keeping clear of those checking-in / congregating pre their run times.  We regret that we are unable to offer our renowned home baked cakes on this occasion due to Covid restrictions;

The results will be posted on the internet via Race|Result, and individually emailed to all competitors as they cross the finish line – a printable certificate can also be accessed via this email; post the race, pdf result files will be available in Race|Result for downloading / printing.;

Medals will be given to all finishers as they cross the gate.  Competitors in the 10k event will receive a goody bag comprising a tech T-shirt and morph as well as an energy bar and water.  5k competitors will receive water and an energy bar;

There will be trophies for fastest 3 men and 3 women in both timed runs, and the fastest 3 under 12-15s in the 5k event – these will be posted to you.
