Caythorpe Dash – 10K & 5K

Venue:   Playing Fields, Caythorpe, Old Lincoln Rd, Lincs, NG32 3DF

Registration Finishes Wednesday 13 Sep at 2359 hrs.
       There is NO on-the-day registration

Entry Fees:

Minimum Age:

        • 5K  :   Minimum 12 years
                    (12 to 15’s must be accompanied by an adult)

Electronic Race Timing:  

• • • • • ‘Chipped’ bibs using Race||Result
        • Caythorpe Dash uses ‘Chip Timing’
        • Personal Run Time emailed to you as you finish.
        • Live Results available on the Web , finishers added as they complete the race.
          • Results live on screen in the Pavilion.

Please Note:   All Competitor Race Info passed by email.

Canicross: 

• Canicross races alongside the 10 & 5K .
  
  • so you only run against fellow Canicross runners
• Register as ‘running with dog’
  • Canicross starts 5 mins after the HM or 5K runner only races
  • We use ‘chip time’ and Canicross is timed in its own race

For new runners, chip time is recorded from crossing the line at the start to finishing – so starting at rear has no impact to your actual race timing.

Caythorpe Dash ‘Cake Feast’  –

Cake and drinks freely available after the Race

• Health

  • We are a small outside event providing good Health Safety from colds / flu / and/or covid
    • And if the Race is cancelled by Government Covid rules
      • We will reimburse you (minus PayPal costs and any expenses: T-shirts, trophies etc)

What’s Included:

• Medals for 10K & 5K
• Tech T-Shirt available to buy for £6 (numerous competitors have asked for T-Shirts to be discretionary)
• Water freely available; free Cafe and Cake Fest afterwards
• Caythorpe Dash ‘race certificates‘ will be available for all to download lists via our Race|Result results.

Event Tech T-Shirts – ‘Trees not Tees’ 

To meet various competitor requests we have now made the T-Shirts ‘optional’ and you have to sign up for them at a cost of £6.  You have 3 options:

• take no T-Shirt – no cost
• Sign up for T-Shirt and give size wanted – £6
• Donate £3 to our ‘village tree fund’ and we will plant trees in / around Caythorpe ‘in lieu’ 
• (A fourth is to take a T-Shirt and also donate to tree fund  – £9!)
  All the above, your choice on the registration page.

Also:

• Race photographs available via the Web, post the race – no charge;
• Free light refreshments after the race – and our ‘cake fest’;
• On playing field parking / adjacent street parking.

Awards :

• Winning female and male in 10K & 5K will get free entry into the next Caythorpe Dash Event.
• The winning female and male in 10K & 5K will receive a £50 gift voucher for a meal in our local pub – the Red Lion, sponsored by the Red Lion.
• Winners Medals will be awarded to the top 3 female and male finishers in 10K & 5K.
• Winners Medals will be awarded to the first female & male in the 10K  ‘over 50’ age group.
• Winners Medals also for the top 3 finishers in the 12 – 15 age group in the 5K (either female or male).
• The winner in the 10K  and 5K Canicross races will also receive a special race winners’ medal.

Hammond Pavilion (race control) opens at 0845:

• Race bibs will be issued in the Hammond pavilion at check-in;
• Changing rooms, with showers and toilets;
• Free secure bag drop;
• Café – pre-race drink if wanted
• Key Drop avail in the Café (attach tag to keys with bib number on)

Race Descriptions (see race maps below)

The Caythorpe Dash 10K is a part-marshaled, part signed multi-terrain run through the picturesque Lincolnshire countryside, which takes in tracks, bridle paths, footpaths and minor roads on the Lincolnshire Ridge.  After leaving Caythorpe you climb 45 metres in 2.5 km onto the Lincolnshire Ridge, run along the ridge for 1.5 km before descending 42 metres into Fulbeck village in 2 km.  From Fullbeck you run along footpaths and tracks for 4 km back to Caythorpe, with views over the Trent valley.

Age limit: 16 upwards. 

The Caythorpe Dash 5K ‘The Flat One’ is a fully-marshaled, multi-terrain run on roads, tracks, footpaths and an old railway line around Caythorpe; the total ascent is 23m. 
Age limit: 12 upwards; 12 to 15s must have parent running in this race

 

Both races will be run using Race || Result  ‘chip time’.

The run is in aid of the Caythorpe Playing Fields Charity – with the money used to support the many sporting / community events held there.
